This earthy lodge knows it's cool to be green, and that saving our precious resources is the right thing to do for our planet and neighbourhood. We're all in this together, so we turn off lights, use energy efficient light-bulbs, use gas stoves for cooking, consider the scarcity of water in our country before replacing towels or taking long showers and recycle glass, plastic and paper.

our units 

Stonecrop offers two studio apartments which can accommodate two guests each, two apartments which can accommodate three guests each (the third guest on a sleeper couch in the lounge area) and one which is ideal for a family of three. The original garden cottage (Butterfly) is suitable for a night or two at most as it does not have a kitchen or television set. Each unit has a private entrance, and all are comfortably furnished and boast a homely, welcoming feel with views onto the (in summer) lush sub-tropical gardens surrounding the buildings.
The beds in all of the units, except the one in the second bedroom in Stardust, are built in and all the beds have firm mattresses.

Cloud Nine and Stardust are lower and upper level units in the same building while Coppertone, Gold Moss and Moonglow are adjacent to one another in a separate building in a stable-like configuration. All the units are uniquely and eclectically decorated, and provided with crisp white linen and towels.

The units Coppertone, Cloud Nine, Gold Moss, Moonglow and Stardust have fully equipped kitchens/ettes.
All units are equipped with a small library, hair dryer, heater, movable fan and either a fridge or bar fridge, and a microwave oven as well as coffee and tea making facilities.

Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar and milk is supplied.

gold moss
This studio apartment comprises a fully equipped kitchenette with a four-plate gas stove, microwave oven and fridge/freezer, an open-plan lounge- dining- and bedroom area with a queen-size bed, an en-suite shower and a private deck with braai facilities. It is equipped with a TV with Easyview DStv and a DVD player.

cloud nine
A spacious, comfortable lower level apartment consists of a kitchenette with a four-plate gas stove with oven and an automatic washing machine, a bedroom with a double bed, a separate shower, an iron and ironing board, a lounge- and study area with sleeper couch, a fireplace and a private patio with lovely views of the garden and pond. It has a TV and a DVD player. Braai facilities are available on the patio.

butterfly
A small but charming cottage set away from the other buildings in an intimate and private setting. It has a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, bar fridge and private deck. Ideal for the business person staying over for a night or two. Please note that this unit does not have a kitchen.

coppertone
A compact and modern flatlet comprising a kitchenette with a bar fridge, a four-plate gas stove and microwave oven, a bedroom with twin beds, en-suite bathroom with shower, TV with Easyview DStv and a DVD player. Please note that this unit does not have a door separating the bedroom and shower, but the shower area is completely out of view from the bedroom area.

moonglow
Moonglow is a smaller studio apartment with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom with shower only, a kitchenette with bar fridge, two-plate gas stove and microwave oven. The unit has a sleeper couch in the lounge/dining area. Easyview DStv and DVD player is provided. Suitable for three guests willing to share. Small braai area at entrance.

stardust
This upper level unit has a double bed in a large bedroom with en-suite bath and shower. It has a fully equipped galley-style kitchen with four-plate gas stove, microwave oven and large fridge/freezer. It has a second bedroom with a single bed. The unit is equipped with a TV and DVD player in the main bedroom. It has a deck for dining and braaiing off the kitchen outside the main entrance with lovely views of the south-east side of the garden. Ideal for a family of 3.

our policies

check-in and check-out times

  • Check-in 2 pm - 9 pm; Check-ins after 9 pm strictly by prior arrangement with management.

  • Check-out strictly no later than 10 am unless prior arrangement has been made with management - Kindly consider the fact that we have to prepare a vacated room before our next guests arrive at 2 pm, so please adhere to our check-out time!

damages

  • Damage to facilities will be for guest's or guest's company's account. 
  • Accidental breakages should be reported to management so we are made aware that the attending staff member should not be held responsible.

service

  • Ashtrays, refuse bins and braai areas are cleaned/cleared daily. 
  • A full service is available on request at a nominal rate per service. This includes washing of dishes, floors, shower/baths/toilets and making of beds. Please request a full service if needed.
  • Linen and towels replaced/refreshed only on request for short stays and once a week for stays of seven days and longer. 

our rates

  • Rates vary from R300 to R600 pppn sharing, depending on the unit. Single supplement plus 50%.
  • During peak periods (long weekends, school holidays) 10% will be added to the rates advertised above.
Please request a quote for the unit of your choice as they all differ in size and comfort.

  •  Out of season week-day: (Monday to Thursday) Book two or more nights and qualify for one complimentary night.
  •  Out of season weekend: (Friday to Saturday) Book two nights and qualify for one complimentary night.
     These offers are valid only if the booking is made directly with Stonecrop Lodge.

deposit(s)

     To secure your reservation, a percentage of the total amount for the stay is required as deposit.

  • 0 - 14 days prior to arrival - 100%
  • 15 - 30 days prior to arrival - 75%
  • 31 - 60 days prior to arrival - 50%
  • 61 - 90 days prior to arrival - 30%

     A refundable key deposit of R400.00 is payable on arrival.

    Cancellations: Deposits are fully refundable for cancellations made 7 days before date of arrival. 

    A 10% handling fee will be charged on all refunds. 


  • Children 13 and older are welcome

  • Check-ins after 21:00 should please be arranged prior to arrival

  • A minimum stay of 2 nights is required over long weekends

  • No loud noise or partying after 10pm in winter and 10:30 in summer, including television and music

  • Children 13 and older welcome

  • Minimum stay of 2 nights over long weekends

  • Minimum stay of 3 nights over the Innibos period

  • No pets allowed

  • A 10% surcharge on single night stays is applicable over weekends

         Kindly note that Stonecrop is a non smoking facility. STRICTLY NO SMOKING is allowed in any of the units.

         Should the no smoking policy of our establishment be ignored, penalties will be levied without consultation. 

         For the convenience of our guest who do wish to smoke, ashtrays are available on the patio or deck outside each unit.
